Diagnostic and Prognostic Measures

Insight provides a range of consulting and training services for understanding diagnostic and prognostic measures.

A true understanding of patient health requires collection of an accurate set of measures including:

  • Diagnostic measures - used to identify the current medical status of a patient

  • Prognostic measures - used to predict the future health of a patient

  • Surrogate markers - alternative markers can sometimes be collected in cases where it is infeasible or impractical to collect standard measures

As such it is essential to understand the diagnostic and prognostic value of different measures (including how accurately they can be used to form a diagnosis and prognosis, their cost, and other factors that impact their usefulness in a clinical setting).

Insight is based at the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct. The Precinct contains Griffith University Gold Coast, the Gold Coast University Hospital, the Gold Coast Private Hospital, and the Cohort and Lumina tech parks. Insight provides research, consulting, training, and IT support services for clients across the Precinct and for the broader international community.
